Enhancing the client experience through collaboration

Spread over a series of 4 coaching sessions a few weeks apart, Morisons LLP Edinburgh Private Client Team and AGL delved into what clients really want from their professional advisers and how best we could deliver these results by working together and ‘rewiring’ our thinking with some practical yet thought provoking methods.

Initially, we looked at current practices of engagement and how effecting a repeatable structure could help clients focus on key financial planning areas that they would have otherwise not discussed in meetings.

Then we discussed the importance of accessing continual coaching, and how AGL could deliver person-specific, bite-size coaching videos direct to the team’s PC, tablet or even mobile devices to be viewed at any time – rather than travelling and spending 1/2 day out the office!

Understanding the link between our clients’ legal and financial needs and the financial planning lifecycle was next on the agenda, where we looked at 10 typical legal type clients in need of financial advice. This gave the team an opportunity to build their own case studies around these clients which included a list of broad open-ended questions to ask clients, based on the RAINsystem:

Cashflow Modelling or Financial Forecasting was an area of financial planning not fully understood, so taking the time to walk through live case scenarios on screen using our powerful software was very well received. Lastly, we introduced the team to a prominent investment manager who didn’t do the usual and talk about his company’s own funds, but instead told the truth about service, costs, fees and the charges that never get talked about by Discretionary Fund Managers – an eye opener to say the least!
